I am having troubles with the Rebuilder and Procoder combination. Rebuilder stops after phase one, and Procoder pops up a window saying that the "Source File Name is Invalid." First of all, can version 1 of Procoder even work with Rebuilder, or do I need to go to 1.5?
Also, when using Quenc with Rebuilder, it compressed an 8GB movie down to 2.9GB! I dont know why, or how to change the setting to compress to the correct DVD-R size. Any ideas what happened there?

Uhmm, why would you want to use Procoder 1? Its several years old. I'm assuming your using EclPro? Check out its homepage (or in this case a forum) to see if it supports 1. I have procoder 2, so I cant say if 1 should work.
As for Quenc, its a good encoder, probably better than Procoder 1 which is like 3 years old at this point. I cant say what your problem is since it could be 100 things, just play with the configuration, and try something called "HC Encoder" and use that with Rebuilder (point the Quenc setting to the HC file) and you'll have the best freeware transcoder on the planet. -

Thanks. I will try the HC Encoder. I have seen it around, but never heard much about it, so I haven't played with it. As for having the best freeware on the planet, I dont necessarily need freeware. I am willing to pay for it, if it produces good results for me. I happened to have Procoder 1 so I tried it and it fails. I dont want to pay for the new version without knowing how it will work out. I tried the CCE trial version, and it was awful, so I wont be buying their software, unless I find that I had something set very wrong, but I have read the guide posted here and followed it precisely. I dont know what settings to play with, regarding QuEnc. I dont see anything that would relate to target size. That's my problem. Anyway, I will give HC a shot.As for Quenc, its a good encoder, probably better than Procoder 1 which is like 3 years old at this point.
