I'm using Womble to edit my Pioneer DVD recorder captures of old 8mm and VHS video. I noticed that Womble will convert Linear PCM to Layer 2 and this reduces the file size quite a bit. I burned a couple of clips both ways and I really can't notice any difference.
Would there be a reason I shouldn't just convert all the clips I have? It would be great to cut down the file size, but what is the trade off or potential issues with this? Could this cause synch problems?
Thanks!![]()

If this material is original music and important to you, I would keep the PCM tracks. If not, do what sounds good enough to you.
