    OK. So I did the download. I get a message that iDVD can't burn the disk because it needs more space than is on a single layer DVD blank. How do I get iDVD to recognize that I'm burning to a double layer?

    I'e not gotten to that stage yet myself. If you have a dual layer disk in your drive, I would expect iDVD to know it if you selected 8G format to start with. Perhaps when you get that message, if you ejected the disk and reinserted it, iDVD might notice the change.
