Use Tmpgenc DVD Author, it can import from DVD-VR and reauthor as standard DVD. DVD-RAM requires that you have a DVD drive that supports DVD-RAM.

  2. Or just rename your *.VRO to *.mpg

  3. Unfortunately the original link is rather confusing, people who are interested in converting VR mode recordings to Video mode via the PC route should read the following link:

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101191

or just buy an HDD-based standalone DVD recorder instead.

    How are you transferring ?

Direct copying can be slow if incd is installed , hit ctrl + alt + del to bring up task manager .
    Click processes tab
Click incd , hit end task , wait for box to to give yes / no option , hit yes .
    Try transfer again .

When was last time scandisk run ?
After scandisk task , run disk defragmenter .

If by "import" via authoring product , more ram would help , around 1 gig for xp will boost overall system performance , but still may not improve transfer .

    Take into account :

The drive reading the disc ... some are better than others
Condition of the disc (if reused)
Content layout ... problems generated by recording unit may occur , rendering content / disc , unusable .
