    I was copying data (not movies) on dvd .. tried to DVD copy on the fly a DVD-R to DVD+RW using Nero. It said this is a wrong type for operation. Is this because of size, speed or what ?

    Probably size. +r and -r drives have slightly different available space, and doing a image copy (which is what I assume when you said DVD Copy) would most likely not work. Just copy the files individually instead of an image copy.

    RW media may also need to be formatted first (I think, haven't used DVD rewritable media yet).
