  1. I have been reading and following guides for a couple of days and just can't seem to get it. I am attempting to make a single dvd by joining 2 bin files. The following is the last process I attempted.

    1) Used ISOBUSTER to extract video which resulted in 2 avseq files

    2) I then used TMPGEnc mpg encoder -> mpeg tools -> merge and cut
    to combine the 2 files. I left the type at default: mpeg2-program (vbr)

    3) I then used GSPOT v2.52 to check file. I see that the joined file is not a standard dvd format and the audio is at 44khz.

    I have used DVD LAB PRO but it stops responding when attempting to run the audio transcode.

    What do I need to do to get the video from the bin files into the correct format, both audio and video?

    Thank you in advance.

    Wow - Good question! Let's start from the basics, ok?

    These bin files - are they VCD's? SVCD's? TMPGenc can do many things, but it doesn't always discern MPEG-1 from MPEG-2 via the Merge - Cut tools section.

    Basically here's what you want to do:

    1 - Extract the video/audio program stream from your Bin file using IsoBuster, as you described;

    2 - Run G-Spot to properly identify the video/audio prperties;

    3 - Depending on what G-Spot says, you may need to render the video/audio files using your favorite encoder(s) so you are getting DVD compliant files for your DVD authoring software;

    4 - Using your authoring program, add your DVD-compliant files and setup your menus, chapters, etc. and create an image (ISO) that you can mount via Alcohol 120% or Nero's virtual drive emulation. Then play it from your installed DVD player software on your machine and check out all the features you setup. If it checks out good, burn the ISO to disc and enjoy in your favorite DVD player!

    Cheers!

    havn't a clue,

    I see you have a two mpeg 1 files (VCD).
    So, if you left the type at default: mpeg2-program (vbr) is not a VCD.
    You cannot merge mpeg1 files as a mpeg2 file.
    Thatīs is your problem.

  4. VCD's can be burned to DVD without conversion and should play in most dvd players. What I would do is extract the mpegs via isobuster and don't join them. just put them on dvd as 2 separate tracks and when dvd is played on a player it will still play as one movie. I would not go through hassle of multiplexing them

    BTW, I use tda to make my dvd's

  5. Thanks for the help guys. Turns out that DVD Lab had an issue. re-installed. Did nothing more with the extracted video, as referenced above, authored with DVD LAB. Used DVDSHRINK to make iso and burned using NERO.

    All is well. Thanks again
