Hi. I'm currently using a SoundBlaster 64V PCI (ensonique) which is not good enough for capturing, it goes without saying.
Can anyone recommend a good soundcard for capturing - I've heard creative cards eat up a lot of resources? one with digital optical out would be good too, because I can then use it with my MD, but that's NOT essential.. I was looking in the £40-£60 region...
Thanks!!

I used to capture with the chipset audio of my motherboard but the sound was horrible. I just bought a Hercules/Guillemot fortissimo 2 and it sounds great. It has both digital input and output.

does anyone else have any reviews or views on this soundcard? I'm going to buy it I think, but want to know it's a decent card... how does it fare when it comes to CPU usage?

The Videologic Sonicfury is a very good buy, same basic card as the TB Santa Cruz. You should be able to pick one up for <>£60 if you shop around.
