  1. I'v eliminated just about everything else.

Could a video card cause problems with my capture card?

Is anyone here using or had problems with a PNY GForce FX5500, 128 meg video card?

Or, maybe my WinTV GO! (4+ years old ) has seen better days?

Cannot capture at the same resolution as I could before my old G400 went bad.

    Ideas or thoughts anyone?

Yes it is very possible that an uncompatible video card would create issues with ur capture card.

If this is a new card, u should check from their site for compatibility matters, something u should have done before purchasing...I guess we all learn it the hard way

What u do, is go check on their site u should either find a new driver that can solve ur problem for this particular card, or u can contact their technical support and ask them about how these two cards u got work together.

Never forget to include ur system profile.

By the way, if by G400 u mean Matrox G400...and u switched to Geforce then that could be it. I had to return a GeForce Fx 5700 and replace it with a Matrox G550, because of the same compatibility stuff

Didn't I see another message from you a few days ago where you mentioned formatting and reinstalling windows? A few things to check:

Make sure your hard drive is running in DMA mode.

Make sure video hardware acceleration is at full. Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> Hardware Acceleration -> Full.

My old G400 is still working!

You'll find this issue relates to the replacement video card itself , dirrectly related to the video drivers , not the capture card , a clean reinstall is the best idea , otherwise have fun digging through the registry and sorting it out there .

Been there , done that , not funny , painfull ...
