  1. I've been trying this for last few days and so far I haven't gotten anywhere. What I'm trying to do is to find a conversion software which can convert videos for my phone. Following are the settings which InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2 (thats the software that came with the phone but its very limited) shows.

Video Codec : InterVideo MPEG4 Video Encoder
    Frame Width: 640
    Frame Height: 480
    Frame Rate: 30.00
    Frame Type: Frame Base
    Bit Rate: 2000 Kbits/sec
    Aspect Ratio: 1 : 1
    GOP: 15
    Sub GOP: 1
    Motion Vector Horizontal: 32
    Motion Vector Vertical: 32

Now my question is that, is the a software (other than WinDvd Creator 2) that can give me the above results ? Is there a place where I can download just the codec and get the same results from WinAvi ??

My other question is that, my phone supports avi, mov and asf. Out of these which one will have better quality (in recording) ?

    Thanks

You can try make avi with divx or xvid. Use for example dr.divx, virtualdub, autogk, dvx.

If you want to make asf/wmv use Windows Media Encoder.

And avi,mov and asf are video and audio containers so you can't compare them without knowing what kind of video they contain(like divx,xvid,dv,mpg,wmv8,wmv9 etc).

Thanks for the help but both of the software convert videos into 3gp and I'm looking for something that can convert videos into avi, with the above specs.

Get VirtualDub to convert the video, and install the DivX or XviD codecs. Guide here on how to convert to DivX with VirtualDub.
