    Hi All,

    I have Pinnalce Studio 9.4.3 (latest). I have Windows XP and Windows movie maker with all the latest patch. When I produced the avi file in DV format using windows movie maker, the Pinnacle Studio can't read that avi file. It simply said "Can't open file ...". The file can be played in windows media player though.

    The AVI file I captured from my minidv via firewire using Movie Maker can't be read by Pinnacle Studio either. I recaptured using Pinnacle itself and both windows movie maker and Pinnacle Studio can read it. I captured AVI file in DV format.

    I had windows movie maker before Pinnacle studio so I really wanted to edit AVI file produced from Movie Maker.

    maybe a dv type1 or type2 problem. you can convert between them.

    or try install a dv codec.
