  1. Ok, I am having a pain in the butt time backing up a DVD of mine. the DVD is White Noise.

    I tried the following methods...

    DVD Decryptor the dvd shrink.

    DVD Shrink With AnyDVD

    DVD Decrypter then CloneDVD2

    AnyDVD, DVD Decryptor then CLOneDVD2.

When i try and play the DVD the picture is all distorted and the sound skips and the audio is garbled.

What gives? I have the latest versions of all the software and my firmware is up to date.

I am using a Memorex 16x dual layer burner. I also tried a few diff kinds of media as well, no luck.

    Help!

It would help if you mentioned what brands of dvd media you're using. Try using VOB BLANKER to rip then use DVD SHRINK.

I would suggest you use DVDINFO PRO or DVD IDENTIFIER to see the media codes on those generic brand, memorex & sony discs. Brand names mean nothing unless you know what the exact media codes are.

MADE IN JAPAN discs made by TAIYO YUDEN are the best to use which fall under the brand names like FUJI & MAXELL. As long as the spindles say MADE IN JAPAN they are good discs to use. MAXELL DVD+R which is MADE IN TAIWAN is manufactured by RICOH which is excellent to use.

I would suggest you take a look at the MEDIA section to the left. The brands you posted are not the best to use. My bet is the SONY discs you have are MADE IN TAIWAN and the MEMOREX have media code CMC which isn't the greatest in my opinion. I used to use SONY but the last few spindles I had produced nothing but coasters so I returned them.

Not every dvd burner will be able to burn all brands of dvd media. If I am not mistaken your memorex drive is either a rebadged LITEON or NEC.

  7. Hey Budz,

Thanx for your help. I went out and picked up some MAxell DVDs and they are working great!!!!

My Old dvd burner must have worked better.

The Memorex is a rebadged Lite-On burner. Which pisses me off cuz basically i didnt pay for what I got. I hate it when they do that.

    Thanks again!!!
