Whenever i've saved an avi file that's been resized using the resize filter it's like it hasn't saved the new settings of the file. I'll play it back on the computer and it's still the same size as before.

Anyone got any ideas? Any help much appreciated!

    Thanks.

  2. You need to describe step by step what you do.
A few things i can imagine a newbie could do wrong:
    1. Selecting Video -> Direct stream copy after adding the resize filter
    2. Playing the old file instead of the new one you saved.
    3. Saving processing settings instead of File -> Save as AVI... (you mentioned "new settings" so maybe...)

  4. Your mistake is fairly simple: you cannot use Direct Stream Copy if you are doing any processing on your video. Direct Stream copy only copies the video stream / audio stream as is. You use it for demuxing or for cutting out small portions of your video for instance.

In your case, you will have to go to 'Full Processing mode' (just direct stream copy for audio if you are not touching it) and re-encode the video stream. Won t work otherwise.

By the way, if what you want is encode your AVI to VCD or DVD, you are better off doing frameserving, i.e. just outputting the resized video to a 'dummy' file, which is then encoded using a 3rd party mpeg encoder.

Look into the guides section for more details

    Cheers
