  1. Hi All

I am not sure if this is possible but I can only ask....

I have an already authored DVD which is ready to burn.
Is it possible to add a menu for scene selection at this point?

The original file is XVID format. I have created chapters with Nero VE and everything was fine until I got to the actual authoring and burning part.

As I started the Authoring/burning process the program threw an error and closed (happened twice actualy). I think this is because of the format as I cannot remmber this happening with DVIX.

    Help???

  2. Update:

It was not the format. It was the fact the there was a problem with the audio stream -

When loaded ito VirtualDub I get a message about something wrong with the audiostream, skew problem of some sort, need to extract the audio and re-encode using constant bit rate...... or simillar......

I have tried rencoding but did not solve the problem yet... No problem... will finish later.

I would still like to find out if I can add a scene selection menu for an already authored DVD.

    Thanks for looking, Hakamtzan.

No, that's one of the things you do during the authoring stage. Adding a menu is authoring. Authoring is (among other things) adding a menu.

    Thanks for the clarification.....

Back to the original AVI file then.....

By the way Mats, any idea about the error message I just mentioned?

The infamous VBR MP3 audio that all the experts on here (and everywhere else on the internet) not only seem to think is a kosher AVI audio but the recommended audio of choice.

You need to open the file in VirtualDub > select Audio > Full Processing Mode > No Compression [PCM] > choose File > Save WAV. Select Audio > Wav Audio > select Direct Stream Copy Video , select CBR MP3 Compression and save the New AVI.

Use VSO DivXToDVD to convert to DVD and TDA to add menus.

In TDA, Yes. Open program > Select Source Setup > Add DVD Video (you will be asked which video and audio track you want to add) > Select New Track and Add DVD Video for each movie you want to add > Create Menu
