  1. I have the ASUS 7135 TV FM card. I am looking for some better software than the one that came with the card. The InterVideo Home Thearter software was terrible. Any ideas on what I can use? Would prefer for the software to be free. I am currently using Mainconcept PVR, but I am looking for something better.

  2. I find DScaler great for watching, and VirtualVCR pretty good for recording. FLY 2000 TV also has support for your card - a lot of people with Philips chip based cards seem to like this program a lot.

  3. DScaler didn't work. Virtual VCR didn't work and support my Audigy sound card. The Fly 2000 TV is $40. I don't want to spend the money to find out that it doesn't work.

Stay well clear of those fly cards , their complete utter junk , i had a fly 3000 stereo once , and it dosent even match those asus vivo cards in quality .

As for capturing , you would most likely find nero6 to be the better option , as it covers a lot , not just recording , but for vcd , svcd and dvd burning , and cheap in ebay .

If you want a bargain , and your system is fast enough , look about for avermedia dvd ezmaker , a pci unit , with good capture quality near 88% of that you expect from dvd's .

The quality in video is better depending on the settings and the speed of the system its installed in , just take a look at my system specs by placing you mouse over that computer system button above my post .

I bought one for $70.00 here in au , but getting hold of them is hard and as rare as hens teeth .

Most pci cards that are around for the low end budget are about that same price , and I consider my card to be the top of the ladder , seeings how I have had 12 capture devices covering everything from pci , agp vivo and usb2 .

I buy them to test and review , then sell those I dont want .

I have the same card. I'm currently using iuVCR from iuLabs with it. I have no idea how it well it captures - or if it can - MPEG2 video, as I always capture to HuffYUV and process/compress from there.

I do remember that I had to update the drivers from ASUS' web site before things worked, and iuVCR still has an issue with some of the settings. I think this is more my machine than anything else.

On the whole, it does raw framegrabbing pretty well, and I've been able to get some decent looking DVDs from VHS with it.
