When you turn it on what happens?
Can you hear the HD being accessed?
Does the BIOS even begin to boot - Do you see only a bit of text?
    What have you upgraded to?

  3. First,give us MORE info.
    Second,

Check the IDE cables, make sure they are correctly set.
Check the Memory. They can be loose, make sure they 'snap' when you insert them into their slot.
You might have your jumpers set wrong on your HD's.
*Power Supply Not Hooked To The MoBo*
    Hmmm.....

    I need more info.

  4. All the cables and jumpers are set right, I even went back to the hdd manual to make sure. Power supply is hooked up, cdrom looks like it is working(green light is flashing)All the fans kick on and it does sound like the hdd kicks on too.
But when it comes on, NO TEXT whatsoever!
I can't figure out why it won't boot at least to the BIOS.

    750 Duron, w/ an ASUS A7V-E motherboard.
    256 syncdram
    40X cdrom
Could the memory just be bad?

  5. Memory could be loose, but the same thing happened to me when I put in my new Motherboard:

AGP Video card was not plugged in all the way. I felt like a complete idiot (considering I am an HP/Compaq/apple certified technician...

Also, do you get a long 'beep' from the speaker when you turn it on (indicating that BIOS has discovered problems...

Is the CPU (Duron) verified to be in the socket correctly? I know with the older processors you could accidently put them in the wrong way...

Did you use stand-offs on your motherboard, if your motherboard has power, even if everything else is messed up as long as you have the speaker hooked up you should get some kind of beeps, these beeps will tell you what is not working. if you get no beeps at all then your motherboard is not powering up for some reason.

You can also reset your CMOS to the default setting.

Read your MB manual, you usually have to short 2 jumpers together for a few seconds.

I had the same thing happen to me when I atempted to over clock too far.

  9. A CD drive light should NOT keep flashing. Most flash for a few seconds during early boot stage then stay steady unless you are reading/writing to a CD. If you've confirmed your memory is OK, you didn't forget to put the motherboard on standoffs so it isn't grounded, you didn't crack the case of the CPU, bend any pins, the heatsink, fan are on correctly, you're sure all power and data cables are plugged in fully and the right way and you've tried to reset BIOS jumping a couple pins on the MB is needed. You have a tight connection between the video card and your monitor (screen will be blank if you don't) then try disconnecting both cables to your CD, then see if it boots and shows something on screen.
