  1. Just getting used to my Sony GXD500 DVD recorder. I had copied material off my Sky Hard Drive to a DVD-R on the Sony - worked fine so (foolishly) deleted it off the hard drive. Then whilst finalizing I accidentally erased the titles on the DVD via the Sony - doh !
Now of course the DVD can't be recognized.
I have tried ISO Buster on my PC- this recognizes the tracks and extracts them as "TAO "- however now I'm stuck and don't know what to do to get them back to a readable DVD.
    Any ideas anyone ?
    Thanks in anticipation

If the disc was a DVD-R, then just the table of contents was updated, since there is no real erasing of a DVD-R. Somewhere in your TAO (Track At Once) are the files needed for a DVD. Maybe use ISOBuster again on the files on your HD. The files you are looking for are all in a VIDEO_TS directory and include:
    VIDEO_TS.IFO
    VIDEO_TS.BUP
    VTS_01_0.IFO
    VTS_01_0.BUP
    and a number of
    VTS_01_X.VOB, where the X is a number from 1 to 9.
With those files, any burning program should be able to create a DVD.

I don't know of anything that can read a TAO file.

The right-click option in isobuster when scanning the dvd should show the files labelled Video_TS and Audio_TS. If you can extract those as 'user-data' then place those in a new folder with the name you want for the movie and burn the new folder as a udf.
