avi files are shut down media player.

2 days ago i begining to have a problem with some of my media files (avi type only) , each time im tring to play one of them i get an error message from media player and it shutting down it happen even if i press the right mouse button on those files.
i tried running the files with other players and nothing worked. i check the codec with gspot and the codecs were installed (again some of the files has already been played on my pc , some are new since the problem start so i cant play them as well).

anyone know what could that problem be ,and how can i solve it , please dont tell me i need to format my pc , i done it 3 weeks ago.

Codec problem. Installed anything video related lately?

yes main concept decoder and cucosoft . but i unistalled both of them after your post and still avi's wont play.

Codecs are often "left behind" after uninstalling apps like these...
