I cannot believe that it is so hard to capture a tv show and also capture closed captions. My card displays them so i know the info is getting there. The only way i have seen to do this is:
record in ati.vcr format
strip cc out with graphedit
covert .vcr to mpeg2
mux cc with mpeg in sonic
author dvd
burn dvd
This is crazy!!! Do you have any idea how long the above tasks will take? Why do PVR companies ignore this feature? Am i just lost to my vcr till this is fixed???
HELP!!!

From the sounds of things, you have an ATI AIW capture card. You're merely doing things the hard way. Visit www.digitalFAQ.com and read some of the BASICS guides and CAPTURE guides.
