I had a piece of software that would allow me to grab stills from a movie.. well, I have since lost it.
Does anyone know where I can get a program that will allow me to grab stills from a video? (AVI file).
Thanks,
Troy

The piece of freeware is tmpg. You should read the whole topic.

Load the MPEG2 into DVD2AVI, save it as a project file. Then open it up in TMPGEnc, select the frame you want in the Source Range filter, and then use the "Output as file sequence" option from the File menu.

Select the one frame you want to capture as start and end frame. Back to the main window, select file> output to file> Sequence bmp, jpg, etc.
