The DV-out port on my camera isn't working... even when it was working it wasn't very reliable. I'm looking for hardware that will allow me to read the DV tape without using the camera and import it to my laptop. Is there anything out there?

    Hi TheWulf,

Yes there is - I believe it's known as a "DV deck" or similar. Though I believe they are quite pricey - probably to the extent that it'll be cheaper to get the port fixed, or even buy a new camera.

Here's an example from a quick search on Google for "DV deck":

    Good luck...
