  1. I have to files one is an avi which is a dubbed audio and the picture is great and the other is an mpeg with good audio but terrible video.
I would like to strip the audio out of the avi and the mpeg and then put the audio from the mpeg onto the avi.

here is the specs on the avi:

    video: 607 MB, 828 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 576*240 (2.21:1), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported

    Audio : 89 MB, 122 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported

here is the specs on the mpeg:

    Video : 1.78 GB, 2622 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 480*480 (1.0:1), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported

    Audio : 88 MB, 128 Kbps, 44100 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported

Looks to me like the runtimes aren't the same so you would need to adjust the audio length before remuxing.

Decode the mpg's audio to wav, adjust the length (stretch and/or trim/pad) and then convert to mp3 and remux with the avi.
