  1. hi
i have an avi file which i can see but not have any audio.
    Gspot gives me this info:

    Audio Format:
    Code: 0x0002
    Name: WAVE_FORMAT_ADPCM
    Vendor: Microsoft Corporation

The following codec should be capable of processing this format:

    --> {Microsoft ADPCM CODEC}

DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

See the DirectShow Render details for more info.
DirectShow claims to be able to play the file. The following combination of filters were used:

    {F:\My Videos\TV Series\} (Source)
    {AVI Splitter} (Splitter)

    {PICVideo MJPEG Decompressor} (Video Decoder)
    {Video Renderer} (Video Renderer)

    {ACM Wrapper} (Audio Decoder)
    {Default DirectSound Device} (Audio Renderer)

but...there is no audio with windows media player, mplayerc, powerDVD
THE ONLY WAY to have sound is to play it with graphedit.

    Why this happen?

    thanks

  2. you don't have the PicVideo player installed which will install the audio codec you need..This only works on a Windows 98 o/s..The video you have is from an old video cd. with a proprieatary codec only supported by PicVideo.
That's what I remember from playing my Hendrix Video Cd..
