  1. I spent more than 100 $ to purchase Sima Copy Enhancer
SEDCT2PN from world gift center, to copy hollywood movies on dvd-r but the result were depressing. As claimed by World gift center, the SCE does removes all copy guard signals BUT the quality of the copied dvd is shocking. The copied DVd is comparable to VHS, infact sometimes its even worse than VHS.The colors are too bright and tends to spread out, there is a huge diffrenece between the oroginal movie and the copied one!The results are so dissapointing that it has rendered this unit almost useless.

Man i wasted 100 bucks on nothing

Why did you buy it when you can get DVD Decrypter for nothing?
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect.

  3. Well i bought it as i was using Pioneer Dvd recorder for copying DVD's. I thought it would be cool to copy the new movies (for personal use ) but didn't knew that this crappy unit would deterioate the video quality.

  4. "Copy" doesnt sound nice, the word yau want to use is Backup. What was wrong with DVD Shrink btw? When Shrink cant do it you use DVDDecrypter and then Shrink, totally free and workes almost every time. I would bet that there are some DVDs this Sima-thing cant handle also, maybe DvdDecrypter with Shrink has even higher success-rate, and from what you describe for sure better quality.

As he says above, he wanted to use it with the Pioneer DVD recorder. This gadget would allow him to copy the disc without the use of his computer. Just go straight from player to recorder.

  9. LoL, there we get for not doing our research, i thought it was software
As excuse we can only say that software is more common in the DVD to DVDR forum, it would have been better off in the DVD recorder forum

I'd never want to go from player to recorder, which would involve Digital > Analog > Digital conversion as well as re-encoding of the video... as well as probably a whole host of filtering being done by the DVD recorder. It's worth using the computer, I'd say.

You could have used a video filter and get no degradation at all on the backed up copy.

E-MAil me and I'll tell you how.

Are you recording in 2 hour mode?
If you record in 4 or 6 hour mode, the copies will lose resolution and look worse than VHS.
I've had the Sima CT-2 and it works flawlessly when making "backup copies" from DVD player to DVD recorder (panny E30)
