I'm using TMPGEnc to make my anime .avi files into MPEG-2 then using DVD-Lab to make the videots folder and burning with Nero. I finally figured out how to get it the way I needed to watch on my TV and all, but for some reason, 1 .avi file will not encode right, but all the others do. When TMPGEnc is done encoding it, the file has no audio and the length of the video is twice as long as it should be. From 0-50% of the video is the whole video and from 51-100% is just blank. Has anyone else had this problem before and could help out? I don't know what's wrong. All the properties of the source file and video all seem to be the same as the files that do work, I've even redownloaded the file but it still won't encode right. Someone help me please? Thanks in advance.

Could be a bad frame in your avi or your avi has mp3 vbr audio which tmpgenc has problems with. Try loading the avi in virtualdub and saving the file as uncompressed wave file. Use the new wave file for your audio in tmpgenc. Also use virtualdub to scan the avi for bad frames.

I have tried doing all of that, but it still doesn't end up right. I used VirtualDubMod to scan the file and it says there are no errors or bad frames. I've saved the .wav and used that with TMPGEnc, but the resulting file's audio is way off from where it should be, like a whole 2 or 3 seconds off. I even tried "editing" where it should encode to and from, and that doesn't work either. I tried bumping the priority of Directshow to the top, and that don't work. I don't know what else to do, the source video plays totally fine on the computer, but when i try to encode it to MPEG-2 with TMPGEnc, it messes it up.

If the audio desync is constant when you use the wav as audio source, it can be fixed in TMPGEnc by applying audio delay. Not uncommon when separating audio from video, and bringing it back together again. Another way is to add some silence/cut a piece at the start of the wav to compensate for the sync problem.
