  1. Could owners of LiteOn 5005s with Jan/05, Feb/05, or more recent manufacturing dates indicate whether their units still have tuner hum, or noisy front inputs, etc, or whether the newer models have had these problems fixed? *Thanks, *tac7

  4. JimLely: *Thanks - I was hoping those problems would be fixed on more recent units before my return privilege runs out in the next 6 weeks.

lordsmurf: *They must have used a better tuner then on the 5001. *-tac7

I just did a firmware upgrade on the 5006 and the tuner is less loud (was too loud before) and the hum has been reduced. Have you tried a firmware upgrade as yet?

Yes, I upgraded both, Lnfa1000.e30 and Lnfa1098.es5 (for the 5005), and also tried the 3h hacked version. It made no difference other than the volume of the tuner being reduced. *The hum in the tuner is still there, and the noise in the front input is still there as well. *I'm pretty sure that those are hardware faults (poor shielding), which cannot be corrected with firmware upgrades. *-tac7
