I tried searching the forums, but no luck.

My problem: I have a really nice movie with a great message. Want to show it to my kids, but there are way too many profanities, etc.

Is it possible to alter audio track and to replace the unwanted words with let's say "beep" ? I usuall y use DVDShrink and CopyToDVD to backup my DVDs.

What progs would I need for it? I use both Mac (OS X Tiger) and Windows XP machines.

    Thanks in advance!
I was told I have a photographic memory...too bad the cap is ON most of the time:(

demultiplex to elemantary streams(audio and video) with dvddecrypter or rejig. edit the audio with for example goldwave. convert to wav, mpa or ac3. reauthor the new audio and the old video with tmpgenc dvd author.

Easiest way probably is to extract the audio by demuxing - VOBEdit can do that. Convert file to WAV (it it isn't already) - besweet or belight can do that. Use something like goldwave to set your in and out points around the cuss words, and replace with a sound of your choice or just simply set the volume down to 0% (so effectively like hitting the mute button). Save out your final WAV, then re-encode to AC3 or MP2 then remux with your M2V file in your authoring tool of choice.

Quickest / Easiest / Fastest way IMO is to not let them watch it at all if you don't want them to hear the words - they're gonna hear 'em sooner or later
    If in doubt, Google it.
