The only time I've ordered anything (a 50 nonspindle from newegg), the top and bottom 4 discs had to be put in the trash. That kinda scared me off, but it's good to know that not everyone has my experience!
With how often I use blank DVD's, I will pay a little higher for at the store. But this is a really good price on 100.

  2. I find $24.8 Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R on link removed

    It is cheaper than Supermediastore.

  3. I have a couple of points to clarify.

First, these have been around for quite a while and they are genuine TY, not fake. I seem to get G02 half the time.

Second, media mail now takes zip code into account as well as weight. Check the USPS rate page.

Third, these burn just as well as regular TY, but there is a higher potential for a bad disc. See scans here, check the forum section for the particular drive.

These currently are less expensive than the Prodisc S03s we used to buy a year ago and they burn with very low error rates on all my burners other than the Pioneer 109. Also, they do very well at 8X. They are a very good deal.
Still a few bugs in the system...

  4. You have to take account that some people burn these discs at 8X because their hardware allows them to, and then complain of bad burns or not-so-good burns. These are 4X media, meant to be burned at 4X, anything above that you have no right to complaint.
I myself have burned more than 1500 of these discs. I work a lot transferring VHS and Video8 tapes to DVD, and since I live in Ecuador, I can't afford to buy them 100 at a time, I have to make buys from 600 to make it worthy, and so far in my experience I haven't had a single scratched dvd in shipping. (and they travel from supermediastore to Miami and then to Ecuador).
I tried many brands before I found these, and I always had some kind of trouble, coasters or my drive didn't want to recognize that there was a disc inside, etc.
By far, these are the best price/quality discs I have found and I surely will miss them once they have run out of stock.
