  1. hi

my ulead dvd workshop2 offers me to use mpeg2 compression, using either mpeg audio (mp3 I guess) or PCM audio.

is PCM in dvd is better than the compressed audio?

    what are the size differences?

    thanks

MPEG audio is either MPA (MPEG1 Layer II) or MPEG2 audio. Both are compressed. MP3 is not supported by DVD.

PCM is NOT compressed, so technically it is "better". However, it is also about 7 times the size of a compressed file.

But the human ear usually cannot tell the difference between PCM and compressed audio.

I recommend that you use the MPEG audio (but check your player to see if it is supported).
