  1. Hi,
I tried to demux VOB file using TmpgEnc Mpeg Editor. The 1st 10 seconds of the VOB file has no audio, since this is only the intro, I want to cut that part. But after cutting that part, the output mpeg does not have audio at all. I tried demuxing the VOB file, but TmpgEnc does not see the audio stream. Is there a way to fix this audio problem?

What format do you want to create in the end for your file? MPEG2?

If I had to cut a part of the video out, I would do it in different ways depending of what final product I want.

If I want to put that video on a DVD, I will cut it in TMPGEnc DVD Author directly.

If I want to create a single MPEG2 file (or MPEG), I will extract the audio part of the original VOB file with VirtualDub-MPEG2 and have a WAV file of it. Then I can edit the WAV file to increase the volume or fade some parts or whatever. I will then import the VOB file in TMPGEnc as the video part and the WAV file as the audio part. I'm pretty sure it will work that way.

  3. Hi Gildas,
I want the output format to be VOB. I already tried TMPGEnc DVD Author, it does not see the audio track. I will try VirtualDub-MPEG2 to see if it can extract the audio part.

If your original VOB commes from a ripped commercial DVD, the audio is probably encoded in AC-3. Unless you buy the AC-3 codec, TDA can't handle AC-3 by itself.

You will need the AC-3 ACM Decompressor to be able to extract the audio from the VOB in VirtualDub-MPEG2.
