  1. I tried following the method suggested at vcdhelp.com using VirtualDub. I follow all the instructions, and when I goto save it gives me a message saying how I'm using a hacked codec, and whether I'm sure I want to continue ( it says it might crash, or something like that). I click okay, and VirtualDub doesn't show any progress, and when I stop it I always end up with a 16 meg file. Has anyone had the same problem and know what to do?
I should also mention that I have both DIVX 3 and 4 installed.

    Hi

It is normal to get that warning, "We" all ignore it
However there should not be a problem in saving the file.

Do you only get this problem with that codec ?

I use DivX fast motion, Mpeg 4 V2,3,4 etc with no problems.

  3. according to the instructions here on vcdhelp it says to use the Low Motion codec (DIVX 3), so thats what I've been trying it with.
What's the difference between the two codecs?
Maybe I'll try it with DIVX 4, but I'm not sure which settings I need.

    Hi

Gosh you read the instructions ? My moto is try it and see, Try them all !! what is best for you might not be best for anyone else, depending on the quality of the source.

Try a few out and you decide which is best
