You can't make fair teams with seven WTF? How the hell could you play a game with seven people on one TV anyways?
This plan is so bad, it must be one of ours. -
a moderator? lol, I don't know.
And those are likely to change I bet. Just today they announced ram was taken down from 512MB to the 256 listed here. Either way, both system's look good with all that flopping. -
• DVD: PlayStation 2 DVD-ROM, PLAYSTATION 3 DVD-ROM, DVD-Video (DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW), Blu-ray Disc (PlayStation 3 BD-ROM, BD-Video, BD-ROM, BD-R, BD-RE
Perhaps the 7 controller idea is so that you can use multiple devices like a driving wheel with the pedals separate, so you don't have to buy both at once if you don't want to (and they can charge more per unit). -
AV Output
• Screen size: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p
• HDMI: HDMI out x 2
• Analog: AV MULTI OUT x 1
• Digital audio: DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) x 1
ONLY HDMI? No component (YPbPr) outputs? Or does the AV MULTI OUT port include component out? -
i believe it will play ps1 games. thats one of sony's selling points over the xbox.. i'm kind of wondering how they will pull off playstation 2 emulation.. if they use emulation, which i think they have to.. thats how they accomplished it on the ps2.

. Sony should hire me as an engineer.
-
If they can emulate a PS2, they shouldn't have too much problems with emulating as PS1...

It will be backwards compatible.
My question is what will it cost me and how many years before I could afford it. -
Pics! http://home.btconnect.com/hgi/ps3/s-playstation-3.html
not shure what to think about the design tho(kinda hoping it's a fake)
-
ugh, that's ugly
from what I've been reading, they have no plans to make changes to the controller - at least nothing as radical as what those pics show....
why mess with perfection?
it will be wireless, but that's about the only change that's supposed to come as far as the controllers go."To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright

re:2Channels of HDMI...
I'm strongly hoping, and it looks like it might be possible with this system, that you could do Stereoscopic 3D games. Maybe even projected!
re: Bluetooth...
Yes, if IIRC, similar to old SCSI, it supports 8 devices with 1 of them being the base unit, so 7 left.
So far, all 3 game makers seem to be pulling out the stops with the technology (MS, Sony, Nintendo). Now, if they can just make it affordable...

you've obviously got a bigger budget than I do....
what kind of display hardware do you plan on connecting to?"To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright

my question is, if it's backward compatible with PS1 & PS2, how do you use the save function for these games?
I/O
USB
Front x 4, Rear x 2 (USB2.0)
Memory Stick
standard/Duo, PRO x 1
SD
standard/mini x 1
CompactFlash
(Type I, II) x 1
It says nothing about slots for the "old" memory cards and I can't even see slots for the "new" cards...
perhaps you can simply save PS1 & PS2 games to the new memory media? or the hard drive?"To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright
