    Hi

Click your right hand mouse button on the AVI and select properties. Now hit the "Details" tab

That will tell you what codec was used to make the movie. Next go to your control panel and click the Multimedia icon.

Select the devices tab, and view all the codec's you have installed...

See if the one you want is missing... Probable the new Mpeg4.2 ??

Maybe the movie you downloaded is only sound !!?

There are plenty of them out there, even some with blackness only. Will it load into Vdub or TMPGenc ?

Hi, i have the same problem some time ago.
My solution to this was, update windows media player by run the program in this folder C:\programs\windows media player called setup_wm.exe

or search for this file setup_wm.exe
