I've posted a message a couple days ago on XSVCDs that were 3500 and being compliant to Nero standards and playable on the APEX 1500. Well I have found out that if u go to the system tab on the MPEG setting and set it to MPEG Video CD, provided that u have a reasonable bit rate of around 2500 to 3000 , u can get a real nice VCD that will work in almost any player. When I say work I mean, Nero has to accept it as a Standard VCD, and it most cases it does as long as u select that option in the list box (and other correct parameters like correct resolution, etc.). I have a SONY 860 Changer and that is one of the most stingiest players around, but it was able to handle 2900 bit rates. Anyway I am posting this in hopes of helping anyone who think that 1150 is unacceptable quality and think that their players cannot handle higher rates.
