  1. Ave,

I recently installed a new pack of Codecs to update Codecs on my system, and that's probably the last change that i can remember. I have been encoding/authoring DVDs for a long time now, over 200 done, this is the first time i'm seeing this problem.

As far as i can remember, after installing the Codecs, i encoded 2 videos to DVD... and both have the same problem... when you play them, you can spot the frames moving one by one... it's not smooth motion, it's like each frame freezes and then moves on. It's not very slowly either, it's hard to notice, but it's noticeable by anyone... i call it Freeze Framing, i don't know if there is a technical word for this.

Now i don't know if this is because of the new Codecs i installed or what. There was nothing different i did with the encodings & authoring. They were simple NTSC AVI videos i encoded to NTSC DVDs. Just like i usually do.

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks,
    Mickey

uninstall the codec pack and only install the codecs you need. you can identify video with gspot.

    Ave,

I was planning on doing exactly that. I think all i need is DivX, XViD, 3Vix codecs for the video. I do have GSpot.

I saw a K-Lite Codec Pack.. i was wondering if i should install that. I don't know, maybe i should just go with the Individual.

    Thanks,
    Mickey
