Many of you are undoubtedly familiar with Archive.Org and the "Moving Images" section there.
Now, there's a section there called Open Source Movies where people can upload their own productions in just about any size and format they wish, full DVD quality if you will, offering an outlet for individuals who might otherwise not have a chance to get their work out due to bandwidth expenses. However, as it stands, it really is becoming a mixture of all kinds of qualities of video. Even some of the sections Archive.Org maintains itself seems to be having trouble keeping the formats coherent.
Here is a thread I started with regards to befitting video formats, since I intend to upload some of my own footage sometime in the foreseeable future, and would like to, besides posting in a useful format, post in a format that would be common site-wide.
I'd love to hear some thoughts in this regard.
