  1. When i capture digital video and try to edit it in premiere pro, the Audio will not play.
The audio has been captured properly, and works fine in media player or other aplications.

even when i just advance the frames in PP, you can hear that there is audio there.

also, the audio mixer shows audio playing, but it does not come through the speakers.

someone please help me if you have seen this before.

  2. Unplug your firewire deck and restart premiere pro. That should do it.

Just a thought, but if you just recently imported the clip into the media bin, ppro could still be conforming the audio. I've seen where the audio will play in the timeline, but as you scrub past the point of the clip where the audio has yet to be conformed, it will go silent.

    Hope this helps.

If bobogs suggestion isn't the issue, go to the top right flyout (sideways triangle), of your monitor window. Click and go down to playback setttings. Uncheck "Playback on DV device"..

    Good luck!!!

  7. thanks guys...it has magically appeared, so it may have either been the firewire thing, which i had disconnected before reading this (for no particular reason) , or it was because i had just imported the clip.

    either way, thanks alot
