  1. How come I cant burn a dvd with the same quality an original Xvid file/avi has. I have to encode it to mpeg-2 and the quality seems to diminish!!!!!

    Someone tell me a better way to do this!!!!

  4. Vegas , DVD Architect ,TMpgenc Plus , VirtualDub.


    I would use Tmpgenc Plus to convert from Xvid to Mpg2 and then Author with Tmpgenc Author if thats what you have.

    If you resize the original up to dvd sepc, it will soften. Unsharp masks will help you get some detail back, but too much and the image degrades again. Resizing also makes some problems in the original Xvid, such as blocking, more noticable. Bottom line, it will never be DVD quality, and it will never be better than the Xvid original. Best you can hope for is as good as the source.
