  1. Hi everyone. I have looked all over the net and these forums for my answers, but it has been overwhelming, so hopefully someone can help me here.

I just bought a NEC 3520A DVD writer for my computer and set it up this weekend. Here was what my computer looked like before installing the drive:

    -2500+ Athlon
    -1 GB Dual Channel RAM
    -Leadtek Winfast Expert Capture Card
    -250 GB WD HDD
-Chaintech 5700 Video Card 128 MB

So, I installed the drive. I had already captured all my children's videos to my HD using the capture card and Ulead Videostudio software at DVD quality setting. They look perfect.

I then tried using that same program to burn the files to Memorex 4x DVD+R's and kept getting coasters and error messages. I then updated the software and firmware and the drive to the latest (3.04 I believe). Nothing.

I then went out and bought a spindle of 8x Fujifilm DVD-R's, and used Ulead MovieFactory to burn. Everything went perfect, until I tried it in my DVD player. The video is shaky in the DVD player, but plays fine in my computers. My DVD player plays other recorded DVD's (both -R and +R) just fine.

I have now been able to burn +R's and -R's with Fuji and Philips. All work fine in computers, but none work perfect in the DVD player.

My question is: What is most likely the problem? Is it just the DVD player, or could there be a problem with the writer or software? I have used quite a few different software suites (DVD Decrypter, DVDStyler, DVDAuthorGUI, etc) and all look exactly the same on the DVD player.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: I just read the post about how to get questions answered, and I realized I left out some info that may help: my DVD player model. It is an AMW T352 (I believe). I can't pull it out to see right now, but I'm pretty sure. I also bought it specifically because it says it will play all media formats (not that that means anything really). Hope this helps!

it could be the field order that cause the shaky video. try change it in videostudio.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you mean to change the field order when capturing? The reason I ask is I would have to recapture 10 hours of video that looks perfect in MPEG form, but shaky on the TV. I just want to make sure that was clear, that it is ONLY when completely burned to DVD and played in a DVD player (all computers look good, too) does it get shaky. Thanks.

  4. CRAP! It is the field order! I am extremely thankful for the help, but I now have another question related to this.

If the field order solved this problem, does this mean that it only solved it for this DVD player, or will all DVD players read this one OK?

Ugh. Sorry for all the q's.
