  1. Hi

I have a dvd I need to burn , first I need to shrink it
because its over 4.33 gigs .

But I cant shrink it ( or even burn if I could @ this size)
    because its missing VTS_01_0.vob.

Some person on usenet suggested I use TMPGEnc DVD Author
But no further instructions did s/he give me .

Could someone please give me some specific guidance on how to perform this task .

It doesnt even have to be with Tmpgenc , any working methods anyone
knows of please advise me .

    Thanks mates .

this forum has been great .....

If this is a DVD backup, pop the original back in the drive and just rip the VTS_01_0.VOB file in either DVDDecrypter or Smartripper.

If this is a home video (or smilar) and there's no way to get the original DVD (or it doesn't exist, for whatever reason ), then start up TMPGEnc DVD Author, Create New Project, Add DVD Video, point it to the VIDEO_TS folder, and select the appropriate title from the dropdown box. Configure your own menu(s) if you wish then output and burn.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Thanks for a quick reply

No I dont have original dvd ...So I`ll try other method you suggest

Where you say " select the appropriate title from the dropdown box."
    I assume this is step 2/3 ?

I only seen 1 title in this , so there was no drop down box per se
I assume this dvd only had 1 title then .

    This method worked fine m8

    Thanks alot

PS how does a VTS_01_0.vob come up missing when someone rips a dvd ?

Doesnt make sense , any prog ripping a dvd will produce all files .

    Cheers

It is most likely that the monkey that ripped and uploaded the files (you presumably downloaded?) didn't know WTF they were doing
    If in doubt, Google it.

Look for the guide on using IFO Edit, that will recreate the missing files for you, dead easy to use

Basically, just load IFO Edit, click on create IFO, and tell it where you're first .VOB file is, then let it do the rest, takes about 2-3 minutes depending on your system and how many VOB files there are

I've done this in the past when ripped movie only and TMPGenc DVD Author starts moaning about missing files

    FWIW http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit covers that procedure.
    If in doubt, Google it.
