  1. I just got a shrink-wrapped copy of 1.5 for $77 on eBay to do mpg-to-divx conversion and routine conversion of my DVD Recorder output to lower bitrates or other formats as needed. I see that I could upgrade to version 2.0 for another $150, but I can find very little that explains the new features/enhancements that the upgrade would give me.

I suppose I'd say quality is my number one priority and that's why I went for Procoder in the first place. Conveniences like batch processing are nice too. Is there much benefit, given my needs, to obtaining the upgrade?

  2. Some people say that version 1.0 renders better then 2.0

  3. procoder is the best encoder, especially for ntsc<->pal conversions.
I use now 2.0, some say that 1.5 is better. I've used them both, and no difference, just more options.

Heh. I got a free copy of Procoder 2...

Anyway, a lot of people say that it's really good when you convert in terms of quality, but I can't say that when it comes to speed.

It has options though, A LOT of it. Too bad it doesn't work on my system. Jeez.

Procoder 2 does a great job with my 8mm captures.

I did a lot of tapes with TMPGEnc until I got a copy of Procoder.

When I put in a DVD I made with TMPGEnc, my wife asks if I can redo that one, it's not near as clear as the latest ones. If she notices, then anyone will. hehe
