do i just pick an IP and put it in that window that i posted up before (ex. 200.xx.xx) or something? if so how do i know where to put the decimals? thanksWow! You got shocks, pegs... LUCKY! -
as stated - you can not change your IP except by the means given ... you can change your mac address though, which is not your IP ...
what you want to change it for anyway ?
if you need to - use a proxy and stop hanging out at pr0n sites so much that they ban you"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
most people WANT a static IP in fact
"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
i dont hang out on those sites... i want to change it because well, i down1o@d, a lot of stuff, and well some one else i know who also does the same said that ROGERS caught him and gave him warning, i guess they traced him through his IP, thats why i want to know to change mine so that im not in any danger... if this post is not allowed tell me so that i can change it...

you must not realize that if you change your IP, rogers changes it and would know your new IP as well as your old one ...
in other words -- you are shit out of luck and should not download .. you have a 60GB a month allowance ... they should not bother you for under that as downloading is (still) legal in Canada - though if it is copyrighted works - you should not do it (and will be soon not legal anyway) ...
they dont have to "trace" him through his IP - they can monitor what you are using in bandwidth what ever your IP is ... since you are going through their system ..
I suspect he went over the 60GB and they warned him about that ...."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
btw - i understand (but im not positive) that the cap has been raised to 100GB for some people
"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
actually he was way under, about a tenth of the size, when i say dl'ing i mean I-tunes, i dont know wat he was dl'ing, but anyways he was way under, i dl hardly a gig a month. so i dont know why he was warned. (but anyways i wrote "download" in code cuz i thought we werent allowed to type the word in this forum, i didnt want it to be mistaken for w@rez) thanks
so i guess there is really no point to chaging the IP...Wow! You got shocks, pegs... LUCKY! -
if he was warned in that case - it was because he was doing p2p and the riaa pick up on it .... and it was prob. for the uploading anyway ....
there is a forum for rogers users here
