I want to capture from my vcr to my computer bearing in mind I live in the UK what capture card would anyone recommend. I run Pinnacle 9 my camcorder doesnt have pass through or DV in, so straight from vcr to comp is the only way I am going to capture my vhs tapes so I can edit with Pinnacle... any suggestions please.
Cheers

How long is a piece of string? Similar question, it depends on how much you want to spend, what sort of results you want (mostly the two are connected) and whether you are going to capture VHS tapes or are using your VCR as a tuner.
If you only want to capture video tapes then almost any reasonable capture device will do the job. I've had a friend say that the external unit available from SVP (http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/misc.html) gave quite acceptable results. At £39.99 it wouldn't really give top performance but for tape capture it's probably OK.Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. -
Looking at your comp. specs, I'd reccommend you look into the Hauppauge 250 pci card. Quite a few people are using these and getting very good results.

Yes, I must second that opinion.
