  1. I can't keep my resulting SVCD from looking like everything is thin and tall. I still get somewhat of a letterbox result with thin black strips at the top and bottom but they're thinner than the actual DVD. I rip with SmartRipper, then use DVD2AVI and finally TMPGEnc. I burn with Nero. Can someone send me the settings I need to correct this problem or is it something else?

  2. If you are playing it back with Windows media player it will look like this,and when played on your standalone dvd it will fill out to fill the screen.

  3. Under "aspect ratio" in tmpgenc it should say 4:3 not 1:1
    I did the same mistaka as you yesterday

    under video setting
    Aspect setting 4:3

    Advanced source aspect ratio: 16:9 (pal or ntsc depending what system you are on)
    Video arrange methodusually, depends which version your using) full screen(keep aspect ratio)
