Have been using DVD backup (version 1.0) for a while to put some of my DVDs on my Powerbook G4 so I can watch on the go without using up too much battery. It has been working fine, but sometimes with newer movies, it says "cannot decrypt file" for the first 5 or so files it processes. It goes on to rip ok when I hit the skip button, but does not play back properly in VLC (seems to be out of order and missing the start of some films) and in Apple DVD player, will only play the studio title and nothing else. Can anyone help? Is there a newer version or alternative application that will work ok? I am using Panther 10.3.8. I have tried also using OSXe, but that seems to create a single file of 796Kb, and go no further and actually shows no progress or sign of doing anything after that.
Specs: PowerBookl G4 1.5GHz, 80GB HD, MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-825.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Time to dump DVDBackup and get Mac The Ripper.
DVDBackup is no longer being developed, MTR is,
and if you want to stay ahead on new releases,
you will need MTR."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
