Ok here is the situation:
I have a DV-Avi video file outputed from Movie Maker 2. I used mp3s (probably standard bitrate 128, 192) in combination with my video -- which also had audio witin it -- to create my output.
I used Nero Vision Express 3 to encode and burn. I used the High Bitrate setting (like 9700 or so, Is that as high as it will go? I should use the highest right?) and Automatic for the audio.
My Problem:
Noise/static (for lack of a better word) happens during ceartin high volume portions of the mp3 source audio. The audio derived from my video sources seems immune to this issue. It is weird because I can scan to another song and turn the volume up on my tv and no noise. However, a few audio clips show this complication when the volume on the Tv is turned up. This problem did not occur Pre Dvd authoring while viewed on my pc.
My first conclusion coencided with the common thought that Nero is the "easy" program to use and that bad audio is a simple truth that I must live with. I was thinking maybe a few of mp3's were lower quality then another and couldn't survive the translation, but I just don't think that is the case. I was hoping you guys would be able to help, so here I am.
I like the simplicity of the app but in this case quality is kind of important as this video is for a school presentation and I need to be able to turn the volume up on the Tv so everyone can hear it. Must I use something like TMpg or the like in order to get decent quality? On another note Nero seemed to produce half way decent video, but my source wasn't exactly good to start so who knows.
Thanks guys.

You could try running the audio through a program such as Goldwave to adjust the audio levels. Also, mp3 at 128 isn't the very good quality. So Nero while attempting to create a higher bitrate audio track, is just making the limitations of the original file more obvious.
