    Okay first let me explain what I am trying to do. I want to convert my avi files so that I can play them at home on my stand alone DVD player. The problem is finding the software that allows me to convert these files and the process begining to end. I am brand new at this ans I am trying to figure out the entire process. I know that the files need to be converted to VCD but I am unable to find a utiliy that does this. Any help for a clueless gal would be great..

    Look to the left at the convert tab, then read.

    To the left are all your answers. Download TMPEGEnc to convert your .avi files to .mpg. That is what a vcd is....a .mpg file.

    The best way I have found is TMPGE for converting to MPEG....You will need to burn to VCD....I finally broke down and bought NERO to do this....its about the best way I guess.
