hi,
after spending a lot of time converting my precious VHS's to DVD's using this method:
capturing D1 PAL mpeg2 8k Iframes with the software that came with my rather cheap card (avertvstudio203) then converting this annoying progressive result to a DVD interlaced compliant one.
Now, after I surfed this site a little bit more I am TESTING Lordsmurfs method capturing with PowerVCRII 3.0: the results are somehow different:
setup: D1 PAL 8k Iframes
*serious audio sync problems, even not corrected by the free tool PVAstrumento
*the result mpeg is recognized as Interlaced by GSpot but as Progressive by DGIndex, so which is telling the truth ?
The main goal of using this PowerVCR is the difference I learned from Lordsmurfs article regarding (Interlace vs Progressive), but If turned to that PowerVCR does not produce interlaced mpegs so whats the whole point of using it (exept for the nice noise removal + smo0thing)?
any help ?
