pinnacle studio 9.3 - how easy is it to burn dvd?? help !!!

hi - i have 7 different avi files 29.97 f/p/s,these are analog home movies now in avi format - i have until saturday to make them in to a dvd with a menu!!! but i was getting out of sync problems using tmpenc,dvd2svcd and tmpenc dvd author- i am considering buying pinnacle studio 9.3 i have checked the guides but how easy is it to burn the dvd i usually use dvdshrink and copytodvd??? i have made a vcd using sonic mydvd,before but could not convert it to dvd with menues are there any simple guides ??
please help me this was supposed to be a wedding present on saturday!!!

How much money do you have? Well nevermind. I think you will find it easy to fix your problem if you first convert your AVI files to MPEGs. You will fine TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 to be a great program. Never had an out of snyc issue.

hi - i encoded to mpeg 2,using dvd2svcd and tmpgenc encoder but 3 of the 7 very short avis were out of sync when i authored with tmpgenc dvd author

First make sure that the original AVI files are not out of sync. Try opening them in Virtualdub (or G-Spot) to make sure they don't have VBR MP3 audio.

Use VSO DivXToDVD to convert to a DVD folder then TMPEGnc DVD Author to make the menus and burn the DVD.

To get the file into TDA, choose Source Setup and click Add DVD video.

hi just played them back in virtualdub they were out of sync!!! could not find out what the audio source was - where do i go from here?? i have re captured them a few times,but used media player and they played fine, but now i know that the avis are out of sync now i am really lost

I didn't know they were files that you've captured. Now I'm confused as to why they are out of sync unless your computer is just not fast enough.

I would try fixing them with Virtualdub and Goldwave. Since I don't know how they are out of sync, you'll have to experiment to get them in sync.

hi i have spent all night adjusting the delay in audio to -1500 ms this played back ok
now i am trying to reduce the frame rate, as the video was about 1.5 seconds in front of the audio, hopefully this is the way to do it!!!!
i am using virtualdub and dooms guide to using virtualdub to cure async avis
one question do you have to save a new avi everytime you reduce the framerate ??? and then load the new avi in to virtualdub to view it??
i have reduced it twice each time by 0.002 fps but it is nowhere near as yet!!!

I haven't ever had to use the audio interleave to fix a sync problem. I usually can fix them with Goldwave by using the time warp feature.

I wouldn't change the framerate of the movie since it is the proper 29.970 framerate which you will need when you make the DVD. Instead, I would save the wave file, check the length of the movie (go to the last frame in Virtualdub and check the length in H:M:S 00:54:1.566 etc) and use Goldwave to timewarp the wave file to match the length of the movie.

As to your question about saving a new AVI each time you change the framerate, the answer is yes but you don't have to recode. Just Direct Stream Copy and yes, you have to open the new file, each time.

Yes.

Make sure you use the correct 29.97 clips to extract and add WAV too.

Audio > Full Processing Mode > File > Save WAV
Audio > Full Processing Mode > Add WAV audio > Compression

Great. Glad to hear you got it finished in time. I was starting to wonder.

I got Studio 8 bundled with my capture card and although I do use it occasionally because of some of the transitions it has, I wouldn't buy it or upgrade to 9 because of all the crashes. I used to spend alot of time in their forum, trying to get help but finally realized that Studio 8 would just not do some of the things I was trying to do. I just figured out what it does do well and if I can't achieve that in another program then I'll use Studio 8.
