  1. I have a muxed MPEG2 file (the movie "Charade" which is now in the public domain) and would like to turn this into a DVD-Video. I am trying ffmpegx, however that seems to want to re-compress the movie and convert the audio from AC3 to MP2, and it takes forever, plus I really don't want the video nor audio re-compressed anyway. Is there any way to turn a muxed mpeg2 file into a burnable DVD without re-compressing?

  2. I guess a quick solution is to use Toast to make your DVD. Just drag the mpeg to the Video window and Toast will do the rest for you. The results do depend on the inirial resolution you got in your mpeg movie.

Toast is right tool for that. No reason to use ffmpegx, since it's already MPEG2. Suppose your MPEG2 stream adheres DVD standards...?

ffmpegX --> Tools -> Post-processing --> check "Author as DVD (VIDEO_TS)"; browse to your mpeg file using the first of the three Browse buttons and hit the Author button (Tools -> Video Tools section)

  5. I tried ffmpegx's "Author" button, but it just produced an endless stream of error messages with this .mpeg file. I don't recall offhand what they were. The Toast idea worked, however! Thanks! Are there any free means to do the same thing, or is Toast it?

  6. DVD Imager 1.2
    Sizzle 0.5b2
    Moviegate

If someone could host Sizzle 0.1 (tgpo did something happen to your .mac account?) I prefer that.

I didn't feel like paying $100 for it, so I'm now on this site.
