Hi,
Not sure if i am in the right forum or not.....if not sorry.
I have several dvds with interactive features, but when i use shrink to copy them they arent there. On the computer you can still use them, but they arent visible-you have to guess where everything is. On the tv/dvd player they dont work at all.
Is there a way (free and simple) to copy these with the interactive features intact and visible?
I have dvd decrypter/dvd shrink......i normally just use shrink to do everything, but would it make a difference using another programe?
Please help!
Thanx

Hi angryassdrummer,
Great username by the way...
How are you using DVDShrink? There's a "Full Disc" option, and a "Re-Author" option.
I believe that you'll get what you want when you use the "Full Disc" option - just be aware that you can only fit so much on to a disc, so by choosing to include the interactive features (which you'll have to do), this will impact on the size of the main movie and hence (possibly) the quality.
You can choose AC3 audio (instead of WAV coz it's massive, and DTS coz it's not standard audio and so might not play on some DVDs) to make some more space for the video.
Hope that helps...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

What I do is shrink the backup file to a DVD folder on your hard drive, then use nero to burn a DVD-Video compilation. From the original DVD I open the DVD from "my computer" copy the excess files which is everything that is not in the Video & Audio TS folders in to the compilation in Nero and burn like a regular DVD, do not copy them to the Video TS folder, just to the main folder. This works EVERY TIME>>>

I use full disc option for all discs with extra features i want, like the interactive content.
Im not really sure how to do the second thing averyisiah
Is there anything easier for a newbie? -
Using DVDShrink in full disc mode, not removing anything, the copy should function just like the original.

i do that anyway.....all the features are there but the onscreen icons to click on for interactivity.
Plus, its unusable on the tv/dvd player, only on computer -
You'll need to walk us through your procedure.
For most of us, saying "use DVD Shrink" would be enough, but clearly there's some elementary step that you're just spacing out on - no offense intended, it happens to the best of us.
Tell us EXACTLY what you do. Be specific.
Also include version numbers.
---------------
For example, here's what I do:
1. Install DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 or higher.
2. Install DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 (the latest).
3. Insert original in DVD ROM.
4. Run DVD Decrypter, and hit "mode->ISO Read". Then hit go.
5. Run DVD Shrink, go to the file menu, pick "open DVD Image", browse to the image from step 4.
6. Under "full backup", hit "backup".
7. Make sure that deep analysis and AEC are turned on.
8. Make sure that backup mode is "generate ISO file and burn with DVD Decrypter".
9. Hit "go".
That's what I do. It's easy. It doesn't involve a lot of screwing around with stuff. Now of course that's the most uber-simplified version of what I do, and I seldom use it nowadays, but it's a good starting point for you. -
To simplify even further, I'd skip step 4, and use DVDShrink to rip from DVD disc directly.

True, that. Better safe than sorry.
